Request a Private Group Workshop
How Workshops Are Run:
Programs are rhetoric-centered; they teach students to be aware of their audience and to see the available means of persuasion. This includes learning about their options as writers, including structures, substance, styles, and more. Writers are then prompted to decide for themselves how to apply their knowledge and skills. Programs are always accessible for a range of writers/levels; challenges can be added on-the-spot on an individual basis. The focus and level of a given workshop can also be tailored to fit specific needs and interests upon request. To Request a Workshop: Email the director, Catherine Riley, with relevant information (e.g., proposed date, estimated number and age range of participants, requested subject/skill focus) |
Example Workshop Schedule:
- A winter-themed creative writing piece
- A specific skill, such as descriptive writing, and
- An (academic) argumentative essay centered on a winter-related topic
