Fabulous Fable WebQuest
INTRODUCTION
Do you like to play games? Do you like to use your imagination? Do you want to have the nickname of Aesop? Well here is your chance to do all three! In this WebQuest you will be selecting various components that will help you create your very own fable. Complete the activity alone or with a friend. Better yet, have several people pick their own components and then compete to see who can put all their pieces together and come up with the best fable!
To produce a fabulous fable, you'll need to engage your excellent reading skills and gather information about the history and symbolism of various animals in literature. And, you'll definitely need to give your imagination free rein! Don't hold anything back when you start composing your own fable... but do make sure you employ your best writing skills!
YOUR GOAL
It is your mission to become an expert fable writer. You must discover what the fundamental elements of the fable genre and identify several examples. Once you've collected this information you will pick your own "game pieces" and then compose a fabulous fable. The prize? Send your best fable to [email protected] and we just might publish it on our website!

THE "HOW TO"
- Discover the fundamental elements of all fables.
- Research common "morals" or "lessons" that are associated with fables. Pick 1 as your game piece or create your own.
- Identify potential fable characters and what they (traditionally) symbolize. Pick 2 characters as your game pieces.
- Choose ONE door to reveal your surprise setting.
- Choose ONE package to reveal your surprise prop.
- CREATE! Create a story that takes place in your chosen setting and that combines your characters and props in a way that teaches your chosen moral.
- (optional) Compete with friends and family to see who can come up with the best fable! If you think fable is fantastic, email it to us!
